Job Summary Provide direct oversight of our Hope Creek or Salem Power Plant operations including directing reactor operators in plant operations, Nuclear Equipment Operators in field operations, procedure use and tagging evolutions. Job Summary Provide technical expertise in the identification, investigation, and resolution of plant operating, safety, and design issues to ensure plant reliability and availability. Including use of technical expertise to support safe and reliable plant operation and maintenance of components. Job Responsibilities <ul><li>Developing mechanical technical evaluations e.g. repair plans, temporary leak repairs, freeze seal evaluations, bolting, torquing, and gasket evaluations. </li><li>Monitoring, trending and assessing system, program and component health to improve plant reliability.</li><li>Championing Strategic Improvements to Systems and Components</li><li>Support maintenance and work management by resolving engineering technical issues within the work management process, including simple trouble shooting support</li><li>Leading complex troubleshooting activities with maintenance and operations support. </li><li>Leading design, development and installation of strategic, emergent and temporary modifications in the plant. </li><li>Identify, prioritize and support other plant processes and programs including: the corrective action program, operability determination, adverse condition monitoring and operational decision making processes</li><li>Perform field support of plant activities and conducting paired or individual system walk downs.</li><li>Lead cross-functional teams to manage/resolve system performance issues.</li><li>Ensure Program/Component/System readiness and compliance with design / license basis </li><li>Address emergent issues to minimize the impact on engineering core business activities.</li><li>Strategy recommendations and support for regulatory and industry inspections</li><li>Perform other assigned duties as determined by the Engineering Leadership. </li></ul> Job Specific Qualifications Required <ul><li>BS Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Chemical Engineering or related technical degree with 15 years performing Engineering work in a nuclear or related industry. </li><li>Available for Shift Work during plant outages and generation challenges. </li><li>Must meet Nuclear's requirements for Unescorted Site Access.</li><li>Support plant outage engineering priorities and participate in the Emergency Response Organization and Engineering Duty Team for emergent plant issues</li><li>Attend/represent PSEG at industry seminars, trainings and meetings.</li><li>Excellent written & oral communication skills</li></ul> Desired: <ul><li>Nuclear Power Plant Engineering and/or equivalent experience</li><li>Current or Previous SRO license/certification</li><li>Master's Degree (or) US Navy Nuclear experience</li><li>Industry Leadership and System or Component Subject Matter Expert</li><li>Engineer in Training - Certification</li><li>Professional Engineer (PE) License</li><li>Experience managing reliability of mechanical systems and components</li><li>Experience managing projects and/or external vendors</li></ul> Education Bachelor in Engineering Disclaimer Certain positions at the Company may require you to have access to Part 810-Controlled Information.
